Scheduling in multilayer fog-cloud environment using recursive bidirectional optimization for reducing latency (SMFC-RBO)
摘要
A multilayer fog-cloud encompasses of a framework, where each layer has multiple nodes and each node has different capacity. Many researchers are working on multiple different challenges imposed in the fully adaptation of this relatively new computing paradigm and one such issues is industries continuously striving for reducing the latency. This manuscript addresses the issue of latency by using advanced scheduling methodology designed for multilayer fog-cloud architectures. Our research focuses on employing recursive bidirectional optimization technique to refine task scheduling across various levels of the network hierarchy. We present a novel model for Scheduling in multilayer fog-cloud environment Using recursive bidirectional optimization for reducing latency (SMFC-RBO) along with the multilayer fog-cloud environment setup. SMFC-RBO is then compared with existing cloud-only approach using a distributed camera application in the iFogSim simulator in various network configurations and the results show substantial reduction in latency.
