Capability of Different Tree Barks as Biomagnetic Indicators of Street Dust in Central Iran

Elm bark showed the highest concentrations of metals and magnetic susceptibility. A significant correlation was found between dust geochemistry and tree bark magnetism. The microstructure of barks confirmed the significant role of bark porosity in elemental retention. The efficacy of tree bark as a biomagnetic indicator varies depending on the species. The findings of the microanalysis confirmed the results obtained through other methods.
