<p>Intensive swine farming generates large volumes of swine manure (SM), a pollutant that requires proper management. This study investigated the efficacy of a tannin-based cationic coagulant (Tanfloc SG<sup>®</sup>), with and without an anionic polymer flocculant (PA), for clarifying anaerobically digested SM via coagulation/flocculation (CF). Samples collected during rainy and dry seasons were treated using jar tests. Key findings indicate that an optimal slow mixture time (SMT) of 15&#xa0;min was effective for both seasons. High removal efficiencies for color and turbidity (approaching 100%) were achieved using Tanfloc SG<sup>®</sup> dosages between 0.5 and 1.75&#xa0;g L⁻¹ (rainy season) and 0.5 to 1.75&#xa0;g L⁻¹ (dry season), notably without requiring flocculant addition. While the flocculant showed minor positive effects at specific low coagulant dosages, its inclusion did not offer substantial overall improvements and, in some instances, slightly decreased performance. The study highlights the novelty of Tanfloc SG<sup>®</sup>’s high efficiency as a standalone coagulant for treating real swine manure effluent under varying seasonal conditions, demonstrating its potential as a sustainable alternative to conventional treatments by reducing chemical usage and producing biodegradable sludge.</p> Graphical Abstract <p></p>
