<p>In the present era, protecting the environment is very important to everyone, and also protecting the environment is an important challenge in running the business smoothly, on which all types of industries are making every effort at their level. A supply chain model with reverse logistics enhances economic impacts by reducing environmental consequences along with system design. In every case, the demand of customers can be met at the right time, and there is never any shortage of goods; therefore, a retailer always maintains two warehouses to store his stock of inventory. At present, inflation is one of the most important problems in the market, as it affects all the sellers big and small. There are many products in the market, whose life totally depends on time. Therefore, keeping all these issues in mind, this study proposes a time-dependent deteriorating inventory model with a reverse logistics system to enable customers to resolve complaints related to each defective goods and carbon emissions under two warehouses. From the numerical illustration, we find that the lower the carbon tax, the lower the amount of carbon emitted. So, companies should always try to maintain the level of carbon emission by using carbon tax policy and green technology investment. A numerical example and sensitivity analyses of some parameters are provided to examine the impact on the optimal total cost of the system.</p>
