摘要

The concept of Agri-Food 4.0 is continuously getting the attention of researchers across the globe. This concept is an analogy of “Industry 4.0.” The term “Agri-Food 4.0,” also known as “Agriculture 4.0,” indicates the fourth revolution of the agriculture industry which is majorly driven by current technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data Analytics (BDA), Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), and Blockchain Technology. These technologies constitute the characteristics of Agri-Food 4.0. In this study, these characteristics of Agri-Food 4.0 are analyzed against 10 different essential criteria of a sustainable supply chain to identify the potential of each characteristic in stimulating the sustainability of the agriculture supply chain. The supply chain criteria used in this study are extracted from the literature through an extensive literature survey. A fuzzy-based multi-criteria decision approach, known as fuzzy VIKOR, has been used in consultation with supply chain experts for analyzing the characteristics of Agri-Food 4.0. Results show that AI/ML is the most crucial characteristic of Agri-Food 4.0 which can play a key role in achieving the sustainability in agriculture supply chain. BDA also shows promising signs and can ensure better adaptability of sustainable practices in the supply chain of agricultural goods.
