An optimization method for klystron magnetic focusing system

The klystron magnetic focusing system must align the electron beam to fulfill the criteria of beam dynamics. Electromagnetic focusing is a prevalent technique employed for the klystron magnetic focusing system. Traditional designs of focusing systems necessitate manual adjustments of the coil structures and their currents, a process that can be laborious and computationally intricate. This paper presents an automated optimization method for the klystron magnetic focusing system.
MethodsThe method is developed utilizing Poisson code, DGUN code, and Python code. This employs a multi-objective genetic algorithm to achieve a decrease in beam fluctuation rate and beam radius, thereby improving the beam performance of klystron electro-optical systems and enhancing the efficiency of klystron electro-optical system design.
