<p>This paper deals with the professional career of Dr Antonio Goy, who has been pointed out as one of the renovators of Geology teaching during the late 20th and early twenty-first centuries, particularly in his role as a Paleontology teacher. Based on the biography of the professor mentioned, this work has been structured to highlight his contributions to science (such as Geology or Paleontology). In this way, Dr Antonio Goy´s biography can contribute to a reflection on the use of Professor biographies for exploring the history of science education and its role as a field of knowledge shared by education didactics and science didactics. He completed his first studies in the high school of Lugo and then studied Geological Sciences at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), where he obtained his PhD in 1974. In 1986, he started as a Professor of Paleontology at Complutense University, where he continued to teach until his retirement in 2011. Despite Dr Antonio Goy's contributions to paleontological research, this paper delves into his facet as a popularizer. Thus, it is noteworthy the numerous lectures he gave and the working groups he led to promote paleontology. Special mention should be made of the social awareness, dissemination and protection work coordinated by Dr Antonio Goy in Fuentelsaz (central Spain) as Aalenian Global Boundary Stratotype Section and Point (GSSP).</p>
