Menschliches Wahrnehmen, Entscheiden und Handeln – Modelle zum Umgang mit Technik im Zeitalter der Künstlichen Intelligenz (KI)

In recent years, some applications of artificial intelligence (AI) have rapidly established themselves in the world of work. Currently, generative AI, such as text generation or chatbots, is being used extensively. In the future, AI can be expected to make further inroads into areas of reasoning, decision-making, and action that have previously been dominated by humans. However, this raises the question of what impact the use of AI support will have on working people and to what extent existing theories and models on technology interaction and impact are still relevant. Particularly with regard to information intake, decision-making, and action control, these should be critically evaluated, further developed if necessary, and adapted to the new challenges. The article presents this in detail and outlines approaches for further development of the models and future research.
Practical Relevance: Ergonomic models of human perception, decision-making, and action are widely used to draw concrete conclusions for practical work design. This article presents some key models and highlights their limitations and potential for expansion in the context of the new challenges posed by AI applications.
