Strukturwandel, regionale politische Kultur und Demokratiezufriedenheit im Saarland
摘要
This article investigates the attitudes of the Saarland population toward structural change and its influence on democracy satisfaction. The results underscore the significant political and societal importance of a successful structural transformation in the Saarland. Both the overall assessment of structural change and the respondents’ concern about losing their own jobs due to structural change have a significant impact on satisfaction with democracy. This illustrates that political efforts aimed at a successful structural transformation not only affect economic outcomes but also substantially impact social and political cohesion in the Saarland, thereby contributing to the understanding of democratic support in regions undergoing profound socio-economic changes.
