<p>Bean (<i>Phaseolus vulgaris</i> L.) crops in Brazil are affected by several fungal diseases such as anthracnose (<i>Colletotrichum lindemuthianum</i>), Fusarium wilt (<i>Fusarium oxysporum</i> f. sp. <i>phaseoli</i>), and white mold (<i>Sclerotinia sclerotiorum</i>). Disease management through biological control is sustainable and environmentally friendly. The purpose of the study was to investigate the potential of endophytic <i>Bacillus toyonensis</i> BAC3151, applied via seed treatment, to control phytopathogens <i>C</i>. <i>lindemuthianum</i>, <i>F. oxysporum</i> f. sp. <i>phaseoli</i>, and <i>S. sclerotiorum</i>, and promote common bean growth. <i>Bacillus toyonensis</i> BAC3151 reduced 95.2%, 24.2%, and 8.2% of the mycelial growth of <i>S. sclerotiorum</i>, <i>C. lindemuthianum</i>, and <i>F. oxysporum</i> f. sp. <i>phaseoli</i>, respectively. Additionally, the disease severity of white mold was reduced by 87.5% in the plants. <i>Bacillus toyonensis</i> BAC3151 showed growth-promoting characteristics, including nitrogen fixation and production of volatile organic compounds, siderophores, indole acetic acid, chitinase, protease, carboxymethyl cellulase, and amylase, as well as significantly increased root length by 31.5% and root dry mass by 33.6%. These findings indicate that <i>B. toyonensis</i> BAC3151 may be used as a biocontrol agent and growth promoter for common bean.</p>
