<p>The bacterium <i>Xanthomonas campestris</i> pv. <i>campestris</i>, responsible for black rot, poses a significant threat to crucifer production. The development of resistant cultivars remains the most sustainable and effective strategy for managing the disease. In this study, 54 <i>Brassica oleracea</i> genotypes were evaluated for resistance to six races (1, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 9) of <i>Xanthomonas campestris</i> pv. <i>campestris</i> (Xcc). None of the tested genotypes exhibited resistance to races 1 and 4, while several breeding lines and one commercial cultivar demonstrated strong resistance to race 6. Resistance was also observed against races 8 and 9, and partial resistance was observed against race 3. These findings highlight the existence of race-specific resistance patterns and suggest the presence of uncharacterized resistance genes in <i>B. oleracea</i>. This study provides valuable insight for future breeding programs focused on black rot resistance using local Turkish Xcc strains.</p>
