<p>Eggplant (<i>Solanum melongena</i> L.) is an important vegetable crop attacked by bacterial wilt (<i>Ralstonia solanacearum</i>) and fruit borer (<i>Leucinodes orbonalis</i>), which cause severe yield losses. Management of these stresses is challenging due to the soil-inhabiting nature of the wilt pathogen and the internal feeding habit of the fruit borer. So, host plant resistance is a promising approach for the management of these pests. In this study, one hundred and thirty-three accessions belonging to nine <i>Solanum</i> species collected from diverse regions were screened for bacterial wilt resistance under sick plot conditions in India across three consecutive growing seasons (June to December of 2021, 2022 and 2023). Based on percent disease incidence, 10 accessions, IC255756, IC256208, IC624237, IC624240, IC636521, IC636524, Vengeri (<i>S. melongena</i>); IC624241 (<i>S. aethiopicum</i>); IC632110 (<i>S. torvum</i>) and IC624213 (<i>S. violaceum</i>) were found to be highly resistant to bacterial wilt. Subsequently, the accessions showing resistance to bacterial wilt were evaluated for fruit borer resistance. Among these, three <i>S. viarum</i> accessions viz., IC260080, IC567383 and IC618019 showed no infestation and six <i>S. melongena</i> accessions exhibited field resistance to fruit borer. The identified accessions provide valuable genetic resources for breeding eggplant cultivars with combined resistance.</p>
