<p>Iris yellow spot virus (IYSV) is an important pathogen causing damage to onion (<i>Allium cepa</i> L.), garlic (<i>Allium sativum</i> L.), and leek (<i>Allium porrum</i> L.). IYSV is in the <i>Orthotospovirus</i> genus of the <i>Tospoviridae</i> family and has been reported in several countries. The Marmara region is an important location in terms of edible Allium cultivation in Türkiye. Diamond-shaped colour patches, chlorotic, and necrotic lesions caused by IYSV have been observed in field studies. As a result, samples were collected from production areas in 2020–2021 with the aim of identifying IYSV in Bursa, Edirne, Tekirdağ, Sakarya, Kırklareli, and Kocaeli provinces. A total of 778 onion, garlic, and leek samples were analysed for IYSV using the double-antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (DAS-ELISA) and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) methods. IYSV infections were identified in onion (34/435), leek (13/291), and garlic (6/124) samples. As a result of molecular analysis, bands with 240&#xa0;bp length were observed in the nucleoprotein (N) gene region. As a result of sequencing, high identities were obtained between IYSV isolates from different geographical regions, and the identity of the virus was confirmed. IYSV was identified for the first time in onion, garlic, and leek in Türkiye’s Marmara Region. IYSV isolates from Türkiye had sequence identities of 96.3–97.5% to the previously reported IYSV-TN5 isolate from India (GenBank access Number: KF965560), and 95.8–97.1% to the Sri Lanka (GenBank Number: GU901211) and Le1M Iran (GenBank access Number: MF431885) isolates.</p>
