摘要

The current review highlights the use of mating disruption at the post-harvest stages of durable agricultural commodities, along with the recent developments toward this direction. In this regard, we present the principles of mating disruption in stored product protection, and why there are some fundamental differences in comparison with the mating disruption that is applied against insect pests in crops and orchards. Furthermore, we present the different ways that this method can be applied, along with a series of paradigms of mating disruption and its variations in the application methodology. At the same time, we focus on the main species for which field data have been produced, and we provide our aspects regarding future trends in research with the fascinating area of mating disruption in stored product protection.
