The potential of cloud-based AI-enabled platforms in healthcare education

As technology continues to advance, high-tech businesses are increasingly incorporating artificial intelligence (AI), deep learning, data analytics, cloud computing, and human–machine interaction to drive efficiency. Despite the frequent use of these technologies, their implementation can be time-consuming and requires diverse expertise. In this paper, DenTeach, a cloud-based, AI-enabled platform designed specifically for remote dental education, is introduced to transform the digital health industry. By leveraging Industry 4.0 components, DenTeach provides a scalable, modular solution for remote and traditional dental education. The platform offers quantitative assessment tools, real-time feedback, and immersive learning experiences using video, audio, and haptic technologies. Digital twin technology further enhances learning by simulating real-world dental procedures, improving skill development. This innovation addresses educational challenges exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, transforming how dental education is delivered remotely. We demonstrate the platform's broader potential in healthcare education and discuss its role in significantly reducing the time needed for the design, development, and launch of medical devices. This work highlights key advancements and suggests future research directions in digital health adoption within dentistry.
