摘要

This paper examines the dynamics between security and progress thinking and their impact on the perception of normality. It is postulated that despite societal changes in the 20th and 21st centuries, a complete dissolution of the boundaries of normality does not occur; rather, an expansion of these boundaries is observed. In crisis contexts, discourse topics shift to fundamental areas of life, with proto-normalist tendencies dominating. A comparative analysis of the years 2018–2019, 2020–2021, and 2022 illustrates how the COVID-19 crisis has shifted discourse topics, causing sociopolitical issues to lose relevance, only to quickly regain significance once normalization occurs.
