<p>The present research explores the Length-Weight Relationships (LWR) and the relative condition factors (K<sub>n</sub>) of two key Monacanthid species viz., <i>Aluterus monoceros</i> and <i>A. scriptus</i> along Southeast coast of Tamil Nadu Coast, India. In total, 2,700 specimens of both species were collected at fortnightly interval from February 2022 to July 2023 using commercial trawlers. This represents the first report of LWR for <i>A. scriptus</i> from the Indian coast. The length of <i>A. monoceros</i> ranged from 22.1 to 56.89&#xa0;cm with corresponding weights of 122.17 to 1,695.82&#xa0;g, while <i>A. scriptus</i> showed lengths from 25.32 to 64.96&#xa0;cm and weights from 141.82 to 1,891.86&#xa0;g. The estimated slope (b) values for males, females, and pooled samples were 2.7408, 2.686, and 2.7097 respectively for <i>A. monoceros</i>, and 2.6997, 2.6967, and 2.698 respectively for <i>A. scriptus</i>. Therefore, these values indicate negative allometric growth in both species. The relative condition factor (K<sub>n</sub>) ranged from 1.26 to 1.35 for <i>A. monoceros</i> and from 0.98 to 1.028 for <i>A. scriptus</i>, respectively during the study period. As these fishes plays a major role in the ecological and tropical marine ecosystem as the benthic omnivore fishes, that helps in regulating algal growth, maintain coral reefs etc. Hence, these findings provide baseline information on growth patterns and population health, contributing to fisheries assessment and the sustainable management of Monacanthid resources.</p>
