First Stock Assessment of an Allochthonous Species, Cyprinus Carpio (Linnaeus, 1758), in Oubeira Lake, Algeria
摘要
This study presents initial observations on the fishing patterns of the species Cyprinus carpio in Oubeira Lake, located in El Kala National Park in northeast Algeria. It aims to estimate the key dynamic parameters of the C. carpio population and assess the stock status of the species, with the goal of contributing to the sustainable management of its exploitation, given its growing importance in Algeria’s inland fisheries. Between October 2021 and March 2023, a comprehensive examination was conducted on a total of 548 fish specimens. The analyses were based on mean length-at-age data using FiSAT II software. The measurements of C. carpio varied between 18 cm and 47.40 cm. The duration of longevity was six years. The parameters of the von Bertalanffy growth curve are as follows: the asymptotic length (TL∞) is 52.39 cm, the growth coefficient (K) is 0.29 yr−1, the theoretical age at length zero (t0) is − 0.152 year, and the growth performance index (
