<p>This study reports <i>Eurythenes aequilatus</i> Narahara-Nakano, Nakano &amp; Tomikawa, 2017 with confirmation by DNA barcoding using COI mtDNA. The species has not been recorded after the original description; only its type specimens have been known to date, and thus our specimens represent the second discovery of the species. Our specimens showed coloration quite different from that of the type specimens. The species has been observed by fishermen to feed on bycatch giant grenadier, <i>Albatrossia pectoralis</i> (Gilbert, 1892) in the field. Some individuals were reared in an aquarium. They were fed several different types of food but observed feeding only on the soft-fleshed Okhotsk atka mackerel, <i>Pleurogrammus azonus</i> Jordan &amp; Metz, 1913. One of the reared individuals survived for more than 60&#xa0;days without eating.</p>

Second Discovery of Eurythenes aequilatus (Amphipoda: Eurytheneidae) with Brief Notes on the Color Variation and Feeding Ecology
