Magnetic water treatment: theory and effects on treated water—a systematic review

Despite the lack of a thorough knowledge of phenomena and an illustration of the circumstances under which magnetic water treatment (MWT) operates and is more efficient, researchers in several sectors have been interested in the effects of magnetic fields (MF) on water. The effects of MF on water have been supported by numerous researches; however, some have been disproved. As such, the MWT remains a contentious issue. Hundreds of experiments using the MWT are currently being conducted worldwide in a variety of sectors. There are typically both positive and negative results. MWT is just flowing water through a MF, generated by a treatment device like as permanent magnets. The water quality’s bacteriological, chemical, and physical characteristics are, thus, impacted by this treatment. Furthermore, it is yet unclear what mechanisms underlie these effects and the modifications that the magnetic treatment makes to the water. This paper looks at the specific characteristics of magnetically treated water (MW) as well as the way in which MF affects the water molecule. MWT applications and methodologies of the reviewed research were also discussed.
