<p>This research presents experimental investigations on the bond behavior of concrete beams reinforced with a Notched Steel Rebar (NSR) or a Diamond Steel Piece (DSP). The beam-bending technique was used in the current study. This technique represents the actual work mechanism of bending members; however, only a few studies adopted this technique in their investigations due to its fabrication complexity. The beams were designed with the size of 225&#xa0;mm width × 300&#xa0;mm height × 600&#xa0;mm length. All the beams were fabricated with well confinement (stirrups) as well as compression reinforcement; the confinement details were same for all the beam-bending casts. The first beam-bending cast was reinforced with an NSR, whereas the rest of casts were reinforced with either a flat or perpendicular DSP. The outcomes revealed that the bond behavior and toughness of the beam-bending casts were significantly influenced by the rotation angle of the diamond steel piece inside the beam. The perpendicular installation of the DSP exhibited a 38% higher bond performance than the flat installation. On the other hand, the difference of bond performance of NSR beam and flat beam was not significant.</p>
