Emerging Technologies in Power Systems and Their Contribution towards Sustainability in Developing Countries
摘要
The present work aims to examine the role of emerging technologies in power systems and their contribution towards sustainability in developing countries. It provides an overview of the importance of power systems and sustainability in these countries, highlights their challenges, and explores various emerging technologies that can address them. It also highlights case studies that demonstrate the application of emerging technologies in developing countries and the positive outcomes they have generated. Acknowledges the challenges and limitations that hinder the widespread adoption of these technologies in developing countries. These challenges include high initial costs, limited infrastructure, policy, regulatory barriers, technical expertise, and socio-economic factors. The current study emphasizes the importance of addressing these challenges through supportive policies, access to financing, technology transfer, capacity building, and stakeholder collaboration. Furthermore, the present work identifies future trends and opportunities in emerging technologies. It also provides recommendations, including strengthening policy frameworks, enhancing access to funding, fostering technology transfer and capacity building, promoting public-private partnerships, prioritizing energy access and equity, fostering research and development, and promoting knowledge exchange and international cooperation. In conclusion, the manuscript emphasizes that adopting emerging technologies in power systems offers significant opportunities for developing countries to transition towards sustainable, clean, and inclusive energy systems.
