Parametric study on brick masonry with different types of mortars under uniaxial compression
摘要
An experimental study of the compressive failure of brick masonry is presented here. For it, masonry prism specimens with h/t in the range of about 2.5 to 3.9 were made and tested. Prism specimens were made from bricks and cement mortar. Two types of bricks and three proportions of cement and sand were used. Flyash bricks resulted in the development of better resistance to cracking of masonry, than traditional clay bricks. The paper also presents a predictive model for estimating ultimate strength of masonry with the flyash bricks.
