<p>The global surge in popularity of online taxi services can be attributed to a variety of factors, including socio-economic characteristics, travel behaviors, service quality, internet usage, and critical events such as the Covid-19 pandemic. There exists a considerable gap in previous research concerning the determinants of online taxi demand in areas with low internet access, particularly during pandemics. This study aims to investigate the factors that influence online taxi usage in Sanandaj, a small developing city in Iran, during the Covid-19 pandemic. By analyzing the data collected from an online survey of 415 respondents, a decision tree model was developed. The results reveal that pre-pandemic online taxi trip frequency, gender, marital status, household expenses, education level, and trip type played&#xa0;significant roles in the transition from online taxis to private vehicles during the pandemic. These findings provide valuable implications for transportation planning and the management of online taxi services in developing regions during health crises.</p>
