Production of Near-Net-Shape Ceramic Investment Casting Shells for Titanium Alloys Using Lithography-Based Ceramic Manufacturing
摘要
In recent years, ceramic materials have seen growing use in additive manufacturing, including the production of ceramic shells for investment casting. This approach enables the efficient and economical fabrication of complex cast components, even in small production runs, offering a significant advantage over traditional manufacturing techniques. This study investigates the fabrication of ceramic investment casting shells using an yttria oxide ceramic material through the lithography-based ceramic manufacturing process. The ceramic shells were tested in a Ti-6Al-4V investment casting process to assess their feasibility and performance. Results demonstrate the potential of 3D-printed ceramic shells in producing high-quality titanium alloy castings without contamination or the formation of an α-case layer.
