Aktionsräume älterer Frauen mit „Gastarbeiterinnen“geschichte. Vernachlässigte Forschungsperspektiven und ungesehene Orte
摘要
The life and learning experiences of women with a history of being ‘guest workers’ have rarely been the subject of research, especially from an adult education perspective. This article takes this as its starting point and uses intersectional approaches and socio-spatial perspectives to analyse the spaces for action that women with a ‘guest worker’s’ history use, and as well as their interpretation of them in relation to their educational biographies and social self-positioning. Methodologically, the results are based on eleven problem-centred interviews, evaluated with regard to age, migration and gender and their relations to spaces for action. Two case studies show how relationships between vulnerability and agency, between discrimination and emancipation, are linked in self-positioning. Migration, age and gender are understood as complex constellations that can encompass both experiences of discrimination and empowering processes. The results emphasise the importance of socio-spatial approaches and intersectional perspectives for understanding the social and educational participation of older women with migration experiences. Finally, there is a discussion of the possibilities for using these perspectives for future research and approaches to action.
