Regional- und Fachvernetzung als neues Stellenprofil in der wissenschaftlichen Weiterbildung? Befunde aus der Begleitforschung zum Projektverbund Hochschulweiterbildung@BW
摘要
The article examines the current efforts on professionalization in university continuing education, with a particular focus on the personnel employed at such organizations. The newly created job profile of regional and specialist network facilitators, established by the project consortia Hochschulweiterbildung@BW at 48 universities in Baden-Württemberg, is the focus of this study.
The scientific accompanying research examined the conceptualization of the positions, their organizational embedding at the participating universities, the profile of tasks, the actual activities undertaken by the position holders, their qualifications and the training program established within the project consortia. The empirical research was conducted through semi-structured interviews, two standardized questionnaires and document analysis.
The findings illustrate that the positions are mostly established as highly specialized staff units within the diverse organizational structures of university continuing education. Their primary responsibilities are centered on promotional marketing strategies targeting external stakeholders. The incumbent personnel possess predominantly educational qualifications, with some also holding economic expertise. The training program addressed both pedagogical and economic issues, but the latter became increasingly prominent as the project progressed, accompanied by the expectation that the newly created positions would be able to market further education effectively. This gives rise to tensions for the professionalization of the positions’ holders, which are discussed alongside the question of consolidation of the positions’ structural integration within the organizations, particularly given the positions’ high level of specialization.
