摘要

The National Continuing Education Strategy of 2019 (updated and updated in 2022), which is the responsibility of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, aims to support the technical, demographic, ecological and economic structural and industry change in Germany with the help of continuing education measures. In the federal state of Bremen, the automotive industry is a key economic factor that is particularly affected by the upcoming transformation. Following on from the objectives of the National Continuing Education Strategy, we will examine the question of what qualifications are needed to cope with the transformation and to what extent continuing education is seen and perceived by small and medium-sized companies in the automotive value chain as an instrument for coping with change.

The results make clear that not only technical, but also personal and social skills are required for the transformation. However, further training decisions are often not formalized and not made systematically. It can therefore be assumed that further training is not (yet) seen as a key role for company decision-makers in managing the upcoming transformation processes.
