It allows for a thorough visual inspection of the cervix to detect anomalies indicative of cervical cancer. However, access to colposcopy services is limited in resource-scarce areas, making it essential to improve their affordability and availability. This study aims to enhance cervical cancer screening in Chandigarh using the innovative SAHELI—a handheld digital colposcope—on approximately 200 patients.</p> Methods <p>The primary goal is to streamline treatment planning for women in this region by utilizing SAHELI for detecting cervical lesions. This device will compare colposcopic impressions with histologic diagnoses to improve understanding of cervical pathology. Screenings with the handheld colposcope will enable prompt biopsies for those suspected of cervical dysplasia based on findings.</p> Results <p>SAHELI captures high-resolution images of the cervix efficiently and comfortably, eliminating the need for a metallic speculum. Gynecologists can annotate images manually or automatically through a web application, which are then saved to Google Drive.</p> Conclusion <p>Compared to traditional colposcopes, SAHELI saves time, effort, and cost. Future goals include integrating SAHELI with AI algorithms, making it an even smarter and more user-friendly colposcope, ultimately enhancing cervical cancer screening and treatment accessibility.</p>
