Purpose <p>Curcumin is a plant compound that is one of the derivatives of turmeric. This compound has been used medicinally for many diseases, including various types of cancer, in traditional medicine in many regions. In this systematic review, all the studies conducted between 2014 and 2019 related to the effects of curcumin, and its analogs on various breast cancer cell lines were performed.</p> Methods <p>A comprehensive search was conducted on March 28, 2024, based on specific keywords and phrases in databases such as PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Google Scholar, and Web of Science. </p> <i>Results</i> <p>Among the initial records of 5625, 38 articles were included in the study based on the objectives of this systematic review. Most of the studies' results indicated curcumin's positive therapeutic effects on different types of breast cancer cell lines<i>.</i> The effects of curcumin caused by activating different signaling pathways, apoptosis, stopping the cell cycle, inhibiting angiogenesis, increasing solubility, and increasing its half-life were observed in most studies.</p> Conclusions <p>The positive effects of curcumin on the inhibition of various breast cancer cell lines were observed. Hence, it can be a promising candidate to be combined with chemotherapy drugs for the treatment of breast cancer. More extensive research is needed to achieve this goal.</p>

Purpose

Curcumin is a plant compound that is one of the derivatives of turmeric. This compound has been used medicinally for many diseases, including various types of cancer, in traditional medicine in many regions. In this systematic review, all the studies conducted between 2014 and 2019 related to the effects of curcumin, and its analogs on various breast cancer cell lines were performed.

Methods
