<p>This is a review essay on Yuji Aruka’s book “Evolutionary Economics” (2024) from a Sraffian perspective. The review also attempts to correlate the evolutionary economic research developed in this book with Aruka’s overall work. Therefore, the discussion (i) concerns neoclassical or TINA (“There is No Alternative”) economics, emphasising the Walrasian theory of general equilibrium; (ii) then turns to the Sraffian pure and applied theory of value; and, finally, (iii) connects the premises of mainstream economics with the pre-neoclassical conceptions of Max Stirner and evaluates Aruka’s contribution.</p>
