Ultrasonic-Enhanced Leaching of Lithium from Sulfate-Roasted Slag of Lepidolite Concentrate: Kinetics and Mechanism
摘要
Lepidolite is a valuable lithium resource, yet current extraction methods yield low recovery rates, highlighting the crucial need for innovative approaches to enhance extraction. In this paper, a novel ultrasonic assisted leaching process was proposed to extract lithium from the sulfate-roasted slag of lepidolite concentrate. The results showed that under the optimal conditions (55 °C, liquid–solid ratio of 4:1, leaching time of 60 min, ultrasonic power of 180 W), the lithium leaching rate reached 95.26%, surpassing that of the conventional leaching process by 9.23%. Kinetic analysis indicates that the reaction activation energy for ultrasonic-assisted leaching is 9.33 kJ/mol, which is significantly lower than the 15.89 kJ/mol required for the conventional process. Morphological analysis of the leaching residue indicates that ultrasonic treatment reduces particle size and opens encapsulated structures, thereby enhancing the lithium leaching rate compared to conventional leaching. Therefore, ultrasonic-assisted technology offers a novel approach for the leaching of lepidolite.
