<p>The similarity metric is the most basic tool used to measure the similarity between two fuzzy sets in the fuzzy decision-making process. In this paper, we propose a new Dice similarity measure and a new fuzzy entropy within the Fermatean fuzzy environment. Subsequently, we introduce a novel VIKOR method that incorporates regret theory, which is based on the proposed similarity measure and Fermatean fuzzy entropy for group decision-making. We provide two example to demonstrate the practicality of the proposed method. Finally, we compare our method with existing approaches and discuss the advantages of our method in terms of its superiority.</p>
