摘要

This paper introduces a defuzzification method called the centroid of maxima and minima (CMM), an extended form of extreme point defuzzification. We derive the CMM formula using the membership value, and the area covered by the fuzzy graph. In addition, we demonstrate that the proposed method is better than the existing extreme point defuzzification methods because of its defuzzification properties. We suggest the use of CMM in the context of real-life applications by solving some numerical examples to open a path for future research calculations.
