Influence of complex urban terrain on the spread of pollution
摘要
The results of laboratory modeling of pollution dispersion in an urban environment with a complex terrain are presented. The experiments were conducted using a detailed three-dimensional layout of the central part of the Perm city. The most hazardous weather conditions (lack of wind) for the accumulation of pollutants were considered. Carbon dioxide emissions from traffic were simulated using an aqueous solution of sodium chloride. Based on laboratory modeling, a qualitative description of the dynamics of pollution dispersion was obtained from a road with heavy traffic. The features of the terrain were shown to play an important role in the pollution dispersion process. Pollutants tend to accumulate in the lowest areas of the terrain, and the presence of buildings can hinder the spread of pollutants and lead to the formation of stagnant zones with high concentrations. A qualitative comparison between the experimental results and field observations showed a satisfactory level of agreement.
