Structured Approach to Post-Acceptance Rescission of Applicants to a Medical Degree Program
摘要
The medical literature is deficient in providing information about the steps to rescind a medical degree (MD) acceptance offer prior to matriculation. To fill this gap, the authors describe the rescindable nature of MD admissions offers, the rate and reasons for rescissions at their own institution, due process considerations, and the steps to rescind an MD acceptance offer prior to matriculation. Admissions committee members and pre-medical advisors are encouraged to model our structured approach to assist in a fair and optimal recission process and in accurate counseling of future MD applicants, to uphold the integrity of the degree.
