摘要

We designed a 2.5-h family-focused intervention for third-year medical students (MSs) and their support persons (SPs) to enhance social relatedness and well-being. Twenty MSs and 43 SPs attended the event in Spring 2021. The event included faculty-led didactics, virtual simulations, and a near-peer panel. Interviews revealed that SPs felt (1) better informed about clerkship responsibilities, (2) more aware of how clerkships affect MS availability, and (3) more capable of recognizing burnout. MSs reported that the event (1) helped SPs be more informed listeners, (2) strengthened MS-SP relations; (3) and provided SPs with reassurance, reducing their anxiety about clerkships. Overall, participants expressed satisfaction with the event.
