Osteosarcopenia: una sindrome endocrino-geriatrica
摘要
Osteosarcopenia is a recently recognised geriatric syndrome characterised by the concurrent manifestation of osteoporosis and sarcopenia – two interrelated conditions that synergistically exacerbate frailty, disability, and mortality in the ageing population. The aetiology of osteosarcopenia is multifactorial, involving intricate interplays among genetic susceptibility, endocrine dysregulation, chronic low-grade inflammation, and nutritional inadequacies. Prompt and accurate diagnosis is critical to facilitate early implementation of preventive measures and to guide personalised, evidence-based therapeutic interventions. Current management strategies are centred on a multidisciplinary approach combining pharmacologic treatment of osteoporosis, targeted physical activity, and comprehensive nutritional optimisation to delay or halt the progression of this debilitating condition.
