<p>Multikinase inhibitors (MKIs) have revolutionised the management of iodine-refractory differentiated thyroid carcinoma, a previously “orphan” disease. Despite the introduction of selective inhibitors, MKIs are the main therapeutic modality for these patients. The aim of this review is to describe the efficacy and toxicity of approved MKIs, outlining the currently applied therapeutic algorithm, the supporting scientific evidence and the critical issues.</p>
