Coastline Livelihood’s Health Literacy and Its Influence on Community People’s Satisfaction: an Application of the Andersen Behavioural Model of Health Service Uses
摘要
The study investigates the influence of remote citizens’ health literacy, socio-demographic factors, and enabling factors on their satisfaction with health services in Indonesia, addressing the community’s concerns about coastal hazards and poor public facilities. “The Andersen’s Behavioural Model of Health Services Framework” are significant elements that affect community members’ contentment in addition to the services they receive. The conceptual framework was created using the health literacy skills framework and "The Andersen’s Behavioural Model of Health Services" utilisation. Data were collected from 258 respondents in the coastline population of Central Java Island, Kebumen Regency. The research employed a purposive sampling strategy based on inclusion criteria designed to meet the study’s objectives. The study reveals a low level of health literacy among the coastal population, influenced by education, social status, income, payment methods, lack of insurance support, and lower economic conditions. Demographic analysis showed that most participants were middle-aged women, with males reporting higher health knowledge and satisfaction. Marital status did not significantly affect healthcare satisfaction or involvement, indicating gender disparities in healthcare access. Health literacy showed a modest explanatory effect, accounting for 11.1% of the variance in overall satisfaction (R2 = 0.111).By addressing linguistic and cultural barriers, focusing on the coastal population, and filling gaps in the literature, the study advances understanding of healthcare literacy in Indonesia. Limitations include its cross-sectional design and possible bias from anonymity. Future research should explore interventions. The findings can help government authorities enhance health education, promote awareness, and expand services related to insurance and educational opportunities.
