Backgrounds <p>With the epidemiological transition, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) account for much of life in India. The current study is devoted to exploring the preponderance of CVDs and their related risk factors among middle-aged and older adults in India.</p> Method <p>The contemporary research utilizes the nationally representative data from LASI wave-1 (2017–2018). A sample of 57,319 older adults was incorporated into the analysis. Descriptive statistics with bivariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to capture the results. Finally, forest plots and margin plots were used for result visualization.</p> Result <p>CVDs were strongly associated with urban residents (aOR, 1.33; CI, 1.22–1.45), and men (aOR, 1.97; CI, 1.77–2.20). The likelihood of CVDs was higher among those who were earlier diagnosed with the following chronic diseases, i.e., hypertension (aOR, 2.74; CI, 2.51–3.99), high cholesterol (aOR, 2.47; CI, 2.16–2.81), and diabetes (aOR, 1.32; CI, 1.20–1.46). Most importantly, the study explored older adults who consumed alcohol and had cholesterol (OR, 4.83; CI, 3.70–6.30), consumed tobacco and had hypertension (OR, 5.23; CI, 4.63–5.90), had obese BMI, and did not do moderate physical activity (OR, 1.81; CI, 1.59–2.07) were positively associated with CVDs than their counterparts.</p> Conclusion <p>The impulse to detect the early stage of CVDs could be considered a plan of action to minimize the issue. Furthermore, older adults need a long physically fit life rather than longevity.</p>
