<p>The Kolkanda Union, situated along the Teesta River in northern Bangladesh, experiences frequent and intense flooding and riverbank erosion, aggravated by climate change. These challenges, further intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic, have deepened the vulnerabilities of marginalized char dwellers. However, research on the combined effects of climate change, local hazards, and the pandemic on char communities in Bangladesh remains limited. To fill this research gap, this study utilized a mixed-method approach including focus group discussions and questionnaire survey, examining qualitative and quantitative data. Results reveal the poor socio-demographic status of the study area with significant damage to lives, livelihoods, households, and crops due to flood and riverbank erosion. About 80% of the respondents had observed increased frequency and magnitude of floods due to climate change. Furthermore, we identified thunderstorms and lightning as emerging hazards with the local community lacking awareness measures. The cooccurrence of flood and COVID-19 poses a significant threat to the socio-economy of the study area. Moreover, the pandemic worsened their financial conditions through layoffs, income reduction, and price hikes. Child marriage, child labor, and school dropout have also surged due to the pandemic. This study bears implications for the government, NGOs, and decision-makers, urging the formulation of comprehensive resilience strategies that consider the combined nature of hazards.</p>
