Recent FindingsRecent studies have detected HCMV proteins in a high proportion of glioma tissues. HCMV modulates immune responses by impairing antigen presentation, altering cytokine profiles, and enhancing the activity of immunosuppressive cells such as regulatory T cells and myeloid-derived suppressor cells. Further, viral proteins have been shown to inhibit immune activation and promote immune evasion.
