Purpose of Review <p>Allergic contact dermatitis, although rare compared to other skin problems in athletes, should not be ignored. The aim of this review is to report on contact allergens identified in sports material and personal (individual) sports equipment, and briefly also on those present in the environment during sports practice.</p> Recent Findings <p>Known allergens in new sensitization sources and new allergens were identified in sports materials and accessories, resp. quaternary components and isothiazolinones in textiles and sunscreens in swimming goggles, and acetophenone azine in shin guards and sneakers.</p> Summary <p>Allergic contact dermatitis, although rare compared to other skin problems in athletes, should not be ignored. Sports material and individual equipment are numerous with well-known allergens such as metals, rubber additives, synthetic resins and (modified) colophonium, but recently identified sensitizers should be considered as well.</p>
