摘要

Mapping the Philippines’ contribution to global research on technology business incubators (TBIs) remains underexplored. This paper sought to address this gap by conducting a comprehensive bibliometric analysis to depict the country’s position within the regional and global domains. Applying the Zupic and Čater’s framework and the PRISMA guidelines, this paper analyzed 500 Scopus documents published between 1988 and 2025 using Biblioshiny and VOSviewer to determine co-authorship, citations, and thematic trends. Evidence indicates that the Philippines makes a smaller global contribution to TBI research, as reflected in research output (1.8% of global production) and citation performance (0.22% of global citations) compared to global leaders such as the USA, the UK, and China. The Philippines, however, has shown interest in engaging with regional- and context-oriented challenges through institutional cooperation with other countries (22.2% multi-country publications). Philippine studies should align with current research fronts, such as university–industry incubation models, science parks, and corporate accelerators, as well as with dominant topics in this field, such as business incubation, technology transfer, innovation, and business development, to enhance its impact in the global arena. Lastly, the Philippines’ minimal participation in this discourse calls for policymakers and funding agencies to invest more in TBI research. Such investment is crucial to improving the country’s position in the global TBI network.
