<p>This scoping review consolidates the findings of 12 studies that investigated the socio-emotional functioning and the social inclusion of autistic children and adolescents participating in an inclusive art-based program, such as a music, theatre, or dance, alongside their neurotypical peers. Eight studies reported improvement in the social inclusion and nine studies reported increases in the socio-emotional functioning of autistic youth. These programs not only facilitate the inclusion of autistic youth into social environments but also lead to enhancements in adaptive behavior, social, and emotional functioning. Overall, art-based programs demonstrate significant potential for the effective inclusion of autistic youth. By leveraging creative and strength-based activities these programs can foster an inclusive environment and promote meaningful interactions among youth of all abilities.</p>
