<p>Wind tunnel testing of flight vehicle airfoils is an important task that plays a major role in the correct estimation of the aircraft’s performance. The purpose of this review paper is to provide that a literature review discusses on the aerodynamics efforts in research for flight vehicle airfoil. Drag reduction method using morphing techniques and methods was delivered by different research groups addressing the use of aircraft airfoil morphing. The review consists of the difference between various methodologies used in this paper by using CFD and wind tunnels and flow control strategies. Researchers in the field of airfoil aerodynamics have carefully looked. The main scope of this review is to identify the goals and requirements of control-oriented airfoil morphing, as well as to analyze the methodologies adopted by different researchers for flight vehicle airfoils. Additionally, a few airfoils, such as dimensional analysis, differential equation, computational analysis, and numerical and analytical aircraft airfoil models, were investigated. The review papers were collected between 2011 and 2024, and about 100 of them were used in this study. The main findings and important research gaps are addressed. However, previous research indicates notable dynamics and control perspective real-time control validation.</p>
