Characteristic analysis and dynamic study of a scroll compressor with a combined VHV profile
摘要
The high-performance variable wall thickness scroll profile remains a central focus in scroll compressor research. This study introduces an innovative scroll profile that integrates a variable radius base circle involute, high-order curve, and variable radius base circle involute (VHV). Geometric and dynamic models for the scroll compressor were developed, and the effects of connection point parameters and involute characteristics on performance were quantified. The results indicate that these parameters influence several performance metrics in a constrained manner. Specifically, increasing the involute angle at the connection point reduces the radial leakage curve length and gas force, but also decreases the stroke volume and compression ratio. Increasing the initial base circle radius and the correction increment of the starting involute reduces gas force and its variation amplitude, while increasing the radial leakage curve length and lowering the compression ratio. Conversely, at a constant outer diameter, a larger initial base circle radius on the ending involute enhances the stroke volume and compression ratio but significantly decreases the outer ring scroll wrap thickness, while increasing both the radial leakage curve length and gas force. These findings provide valuable insights and theoretical support for future research on high-performance variable wall thickness scroll compressors.
