Theoretical and experimental study of two-phase flow mechanism of high-speed water-lubricated mechanical seal
摘要
Taking the hydrodynamic mechanical seal as the research object, a simulation model based on both the Laminar model and the Mixture model has been established, utilizing the finite volume method. This model enables the determination of the degree of phase transition, sealing performance, and two-phase flow characteristics of the fluid film under various working conditions, where water serves as the lubricating medium. A verification experiment was conducted to compare the simulation results with experimental data. The relative errors between the experimental and simulation results for the end face opening force and friction power consumption were found to be less than 15%, thereby verifying the correctness of the model.
