<p>The aim of this study is to identify and examine in detail the morphological and micromorphological characteristics of the involucrum and cypsela structures that may be useful in the classification of six different taxa of <i>Centaurea</i> (<i>C. carduiformis</i> DC. subsp. <i>carduiformis</i> var. <i>carduiformis</i>, <i>C. drabifolioides</i> Hub.-Mor. (endemic), <i>C. glastifolia</i> L., <i>C. jacea</i> L., <i>C. helenioides</i> Boiss. (endemic) and <i>C. polypodiifolia</i> Boiss. var. <i>polypodiifolia</i> Boiss.)<i>.</i> Morphometrical analyses were carried out using a stereomicroscope. Micromorphological examinations were performed using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). A total of 33 (21 of which were morphometric) characters were obtained. SPSS 25 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) and PAST 4.17 (Paleonto Statistics) software packages were used for statistical analysis of the data. Cluster analysis (UPGMA), principal component analysis (PCA) and discriminant analysis (LDA) tests were applied to the data. As a result of the study, involucral shape, appendage structure, phyllary size (upper, middle, lower), presence and type of pappus, pappus size (short-long), cypsela size, stomata size on the appendage, and phyllary surface were found to be important morphological characters in differentiating the species belonging to six different orders. Among the micromorphological characters, stylopodium structure, cypsela surface shape, and phyllary surface trichome types were found to be valuable.</p>
